Overview

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Assembly Technician to join our team at our facility located in Fulton, MD, 20759. As an Engineering Assembly Technician, you will play a crucial role in the assembly and testing of mechanical and electrical components. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with basic computer skills, soldering proficiency, and excellent communication skills to contribute to our innovative projects.

This position requires that the candidate be willing and able to complete a successful background screening for a US DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and testing of mechanical and electrical components according to engineering specifications
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues
• Maintain accurate documentation of assembly processes and test results
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance assembly efficiency and quality
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

• Experience soldering to build prototype boards and higher throughput manufacturing of cable assemblies
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong mechanical assembly skills, including the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• 2+ years of hands-on real world experience
• Knowledge of IPC-A-620 wire and cable requirements and J-STD-001 Soldering requirements is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus
