PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position will be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and preparing monthly journals to assist in the monthly reporting of the North America operating results. This role will also assist with SOX Compliance requirements.

 ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

• Prepare accounting tasks as related to month end closings, journal entries, and review expenses and accruals.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly packages for corporate submission.
• Travel and Marketing expenses review and reconciliation.
• Perform account and ad hoc financial analyses, including justifications for major variances on a monthly basis.
• Support Product Coordinators in preparing grower liquidations.
• Assist in SOX walk through documentation as needed.

 MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years prior accounting experience in a similar role.
• Advanced Microsoft Office program (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Preferred knowledge of Oracle application.
• Good knowledge of accounting updates.
• Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication (i.e. oral and written) skills.
• Ability to work independently.

PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:  

• Masters degree in Accounting.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards
• CPA
