    THIS POSITION IS FOR MANN PACKING (A DEL MONTE COMPANY)

     

     

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    This position will be responsible for the overall financial accountability of assigned locations for Mann Packing companies in the North America region. In this role, will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to, and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Complete month end closings and submit financial reporting to Controller and other personnel in North America headquarters.
    • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Analysis.
    • Lead cost accounting functions for manufacturing as it pertains to inventory, product and job costing.
    • Perform financial analysis regarding business performance, with the overall objective of providing assistance and guidance to General Managers within assigned locations.
    • Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.
    • Collaborates with General Manager, Plant accountants and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis.
    • Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks.
    • Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements.
    • Estimate product costs to support quoting activities.
    • Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions.
    • Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for all locations.
    • Supervise regional financial personnel.
    • Continuously monitor adherence to financial policies and procedures within assigned locations.
    • Conduct site visits and participate in inventory count process and reconciliations.
    • Assist and guide General Manager within the location.

    MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance), from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience in a related field.
    • 5+ years’ of experience in a similar position within the manufacturing industry, with supervisory and/or management experience.
    • 3+ years strong cost accounting experience (Manufacturing).
    • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
    • Strong communication skills (i.e.oral and written).
    • Experience with Analytical cube reporting tools (Cognos or Power BI).
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented and confidential environment.
    • Comfortable walking the manufacturing floor daily.
    • Must be able to travel up to 10%

    PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

    • JD Edwards or SAP.
    • Experience in a large or similar public company.
    • Prior experience in the fresh produce/food industry.
