Hello! We are looking for a dedicated Purchasing Supervisor to join the team! Del Real Foods is a traditional Mexican food manufacturer born out of a family farm. Today, Del Real Food makes tamales, carnitas, salsas, and other recipes inspired by the Cardenas' native Jalisco -- all created by hand with fresh ingredients and nothing artificial. The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee the procurement and distribution of the organization's supplies, and services. Supervise the organization's purchasing clerks and lead. Purchase all ingredients, packaging, raw materials, and others with the maximum quality at the best cost. Make sure that all ingredients, packaging, raw materials, and others are in house with the proper quality, in time, and quantity to fill up the production requirements. The position is responsible to comply with all Food Safety/SQF requirements that apply to Purchasing department. Benefits: * Medical, Dental, Vision, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity and Life Insurance offered * Competitive 401(k) plan * Vacation Time * 9 Paid Holidays Supervisory Responsibilities: · Participates in interviewing, hiring, and training processes for new staff. · Directs the daily workflow and schedules of the department, coordinating staff involved in purchasing, selling, and distributing supplies, materials, or ingredients. · Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. · Participates in discipline and termination processes of employees in accordance with company policy. Responsibilities and Duties: · Follow and enforce all company rules of conduct including but not limited to: Attendance and punctuality, lunch and breaks, Safety, Food Safety/SQF, GMP's, SOP's, HACCP, CCP's, CP's, etc. · Keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future · Oversees Audit requirements to support SQF audits · Producing reports and statistics using computer software · Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis · Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives · Attending meetings · Fulfill objectives and directions from the VP of Procurement and Operation's VP · Respond to and deal with vendors' communication by email, fax, and telephone in a professional and courteous manner. · Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met. · Drafts and/or reviews supply and service specifications. · Evaluates bids, ensuring compliance with departmental and company policies and procedures. · Coordinates new packaging initiatives with DRF partners. · Responsible for submitting Change Management Requests (CMR) for BOM changes. · Distributes purchasing information to involved parties including vendors, sales representatives, and employees. · Reviews and evaluates purchase request forms for accuracy and completeness. · Gathers, records, and completes purchase data. · Performs other duties as assigned Requirements and Duties: · Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies. · Strong supervisory and leadership skills. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Ability to read, interpret, and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing. · Mastery with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience: · Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field required, and/or · At least five years of experience in the purchasing field is required. · Protein purchasing experience a plus After completing an application, qualified candidates will be scheduled for a phone screen followed by an interview with the Purchasing management team.
