    Job Title: Dispensary Specialist – Cannabis Retail

    Location: Bloomfield, NJ

    Job Type: Full-time / Part-time

    Reports to: Retail Manager

    Position Summary: We are looking for a customer-focused , reliable, and knowledgeable Dispensary Specialist to join our team. As a Specialist, you will be the face of our dispensary, responsible for providing outstanding customer service, assisting with product selection, verifying customer ages, managing front-of-house inventory, and maintaining appealing retail displays. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and informative environment for customers while ensuring the dispensary operates in full compliance with all local and state cannabis regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    ** Customer Service & Sales**

    • Customer Interaction: Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service to customers, guiding them in selecting cannabis products based on their needs and preferences.
    • Product Education: Educate customers on different types of cannabis products (flower, edibles, concentrates, etc.), their effects, usage methods, and dosage recommendations.
    • Personalized Assistance: Help customers make informed choices by asking relevant questions and offering personalized recommendations based on their preferences, experience, and wellness goals.
    • Customer Support: Address customer concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally. Ensure a positive experience by providing courteous and respectful service at all times.

    ** __** ** Age Verification**

    • ID Verification: Confirm the legal age of all customers by verifying identification before completing any purchase. Ensure strict adherence to local and state cannabis regulations regarding age restrictions.
    • Compliance: Ensure all sales are made in compliance with dispensary rules and regulations. Refuse service to customers who fail to meet age or legal requirements, and document incidents as required by policy.

    ** Front-of-House Inventory Management**

    • Product Display: Maintain well-organized, attractive, and fully stocked product displays. Ensure that products are accurately labeled and categorized for easy access and visibility.
    • Inventory Monitoring: Monitor product levels in the front of the house, ensuring that the dispensary shelves are consistently stocked. Communicate inventory needs to the Retail Manager to ensure prompt restocking.
    • Product Rotation: Regularly rotate products based on shelf life to prevent stale inventory. Keep track of product expiry dates and remove any expired or damaged goods.
    • Stocking: Assist with receiving shipments, organizing stock, and moving products from storage to the sales floor when necessary.

    ** __** ** Retail Display Management**

    • Visual Merchandising: Ensure that retail displays are visually appealing and aligned with store aesthetics and branding. Arrange products in a way that highlights key offerings and encourages customer engagement.
    • Promotional Displays: Set up and maintain promotional displays for sales, special events, or new product launches. Keep displays fresh and up-to-date with current promotions.
    • Cleaning & Organization: Ensure the sales floor, display areas, and shelves are kept clean, organized, and free of clutter at all times. Maintain a neat and professional appearance of the dispensary.

    ** __** ** Compliance & Security**

    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all customer transactions, product handling, and sales processes comply with state and local cannabis regulations. Follow all guidelines related to product packaging, labeling, and sales restrictions.
    • Security Awareness: Assist in maintaining a secure environment for both customers and staff. Be mindful of potential security risks, report suspicious activity to management, and follow all security protocols.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with the Retail Manager and other team members to ensure smooth operations. Offer support where needed, whether in customer service, inventory management, or retail display organization.
    • Communication: Keep the team informed about product updates, new promotions, or any operational issues that may affect daily tasks. Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or retail position, preferably in the cannabis industry or another highly regulated environment.
    • Knowledge: Strong understanding of cannabis products, including flower, edibles, concentrates, and accessories, as well as knowledge of their effects and consumption methods.
    • Skills: * Excellent customer service and communication skills * Ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail * Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Certifications: Cannabis-related certifications (such as Responsible Vendor or Cannabis Compliance) are a plus.
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is a plus.

    Working Conditions

    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
    • Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and composure.
