    Overview:

    We are currently seeking an Electrical Application Engineer to join our team within the Flex Air division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing engineering, technical, sales, and customer service functions to support our company's goals.

    Responsibilities:

    Engineering:

    • Execute engineering tasks related to estimating and designing air supply systems, air handling units, modular mechanical and electrical systems, and associated infrastructure.
    • Apply engineering principles across various stages of selling, quoting, engineering, and manufacturing processes for our diverse product lines.
    • Specify system components and equipment to ensure compliance with engineering design and performance criteria.
    • Prepare comprehensive engineering packages for our range of products.
    • Evaluate customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to assess design feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
    • Propose modifications to enhance performance or reduce costs.
    • Investigate equipment failures or design flaws and recommend corrective measures while updating standards for future reference.
    • Support product testing and customer witness testing activities.

    Estimating:

    • Collaborate with the internal estimating team to review project bid documents, ensuring accuracy and promptness in quotation processes.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in line with Executive Management's directives.
    • Review cost estimate sheets prepared by the estimating team for accuracy and feasibility.
    • Provide support to project management in coordinating project schedules when necessary.
    • Stay abreast of programs, manufacturing processes, and technical advancements across industrial markets.
    • Verify the currency of raw material and third-party pricing prior to issuing cost estimates to Sales.
    • Work alongside Engineering, Production, and Senior Management to estimate costs for non-core opportunities.
    • Monitor "After Build" budgets to ensure estimate accuracy throughout project completion, leveraging insights from past project performances for ongoing estimates.
    • Undertake additional duties and assignments as directed by Management.

    Requirements:

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Equivalent experience will be considered.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of three (3) years in a related role, preferably within the Manufacturing, Air Handling, HVAC, or Construction sectors.

    Skills:

    • Ability to support structural and mechanical designs and detailing from proposal to end-of-life phases.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, Global Shop ERP, BOM, CAD, SolidWorks, and other systems supporting accounting needs.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with employees, customers, and vendors.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while consistently meeting deadlines with high-quality results.
    • Strong planning and organizational abilities, including multitasking and effective time management.
    • Self-discipline and autonomy in identifying and completing critical tasks independently.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and facilitation.
    • Keen attention to detail.
    • Comfortable engaging with suppliers and customers.
    • Familiarity with the air handling, HVAC, manufacturing, and construction industries, with a willingness to continue learning and adapting.
