    Position Overview

    Delta Utilities is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Vice President of Human Resources (VPHR). Leading all human resources-related initiatives and functions, this person will drive the development and execution of HR strategies aligned with the company’s both short- and long-term business objectives. The VPHR will be responsible for overseeing all activities, including talent acquisition, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, HRIS, training and development, and HR compliance and operations.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR leadership, with a proven track record in developing and implementing HR initiatives that support organizational growth and employee engagement. This is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the company's overall business objectives and culture
    • Design and implement talent acquisition strategies and employee engagement efforts to sustain a high-performance culture and foster a sense of belonging and purpose among employees during periods of rapid change and expansion
    • Lead the talent acquisition function, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding of top talent to support organizational growth and development
    • Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planning, to drive high performance and continuous improvement
    • Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
    • Develop and administer compensation and benefits programs to attract, retain, and motivate employees, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
    • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior management on HR-related matters, including workforce planning, organizational design, and change management initiatives
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and best practices in HR management, and incorporate learnings into HR strategies and practices

    Qualifications

    • A bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business, or a related field is required; a combination of experience and education that clearly demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities may be suitable
    • A minimum of ten to fifteen years of related professional experience is required, with at least eight years in a leadership capacity.
    • Relevant certifications considered a plus, such as the SPHR or SHRM-SCP certifications
    • Strong technical knowledge of HR principles, best practices, and regulations, with a proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and drive results
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with team members at all levels of the organization
    • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives and organizational performance

    About Delta Utilities

    Delta Utilities is a leading natural gas utility with a focus on safe, dependable service to customers. Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, the utility will serve nearly 600,000 customers and become of the leading natural gas providers in Louisiana and Mississippi and among the top 40 providers in the United States.

    In 2023, Entergy announced that it had entered into an agreement with Delta Utilities to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business. The natural gas utility currently serves more than 200,000 customers across East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes. In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers. Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities.
