Job Description

DeltaTrak, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Manager.  The role of the Purchasing Manager is to manage the purchasing activities for the company to ensure adequate inventory planning.

•          Manage the publication of daily, weekly, and monthly PO’s and delivery schedule.

•          Create, track and expedite purchase orders based on priority.

•          Review open PO’s, coordinate with Materials Manager to meet customer requirements

•          Ensure raw materials and finished OEM/Resale products are on dock to support          production and sales delivery requirements.

•          Responsible for generating material requirement planning (MRP) to support Gold Step           connsignment inventory orders and manufacturing/recycling operations in Modesto              according to sales forecasts.

•         Control Freight costs/ relations / performances / and negotiate rates

•         Supervise Purchasing and logistics on PO’s for scheduling in-bound containers 

•         Communicate / escalate issues impacting order fill rate to Director of Operations.

•         Communicate / escalate issues impacting quality/complaints Quality manager.

•         Update and publish vendor performance metrics 

•         Instigate and implement cost reduction objectives.

•         Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will possess 

• A college degree in business or similar discipline or have the equivalent work experience of 5-7 years in a Purchasing Agent role, ideally in a manufacturing operation. 
• Great written and communication skills. 
• Strong background using ERP systems 
• Negotiation skills when dealing with vendors
• Cost Anaylist skills
• Excellent computer skills using MS Office and Macola software system.  
• Understanding of the role of Supply Chain and how it creates value within the business.
