DeltaV Engineer - Kalamazoo, MI (onsite, up to 25% travel)
We have a DeltaV Engineer opportunity in Kalamazoo, MI. As a DeltaV Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing advanced Emerson DeltaV automation solutions for the Life Sciences industry. Must have:
- Stable work history
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Life Science/Pharma industry experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV systems (design, implementation, configuration) AND PLC
- Experience with ISA-88 Batch Processing and DeltaV Batch configuration
- Familiarity with automation protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus, OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, and HART
- Experience working in or supporting Life Sciences, Biotech, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Device environments
- Strong knowledge of GAMP5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11
- Experience conducting FAT/SAT, startup, and commissioning
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on industrial/manufacturing automation projects
- Willingness to travel up to 25% and work extended hours or weekends if needed
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of historian systems, alarm management, and advanced control strategies
- Familiarity with industrial networking (controllers, HMIs, servers)
- Exposure to Rockwell Automation, Siemens PCS7, or other DCS/SCADA platforms
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and electrical design principles
- Experience with loop tuning and process control optimization
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or technicians
- Experience translating functional specs into detailed software design
- Previous experience working on mission-critical or regulated environments
