  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Porter is responsible for the general cleanliness and upkeep of the garage, indoor and outdoor. This position may also be required to assist with general maintenance needs. Besides cleaning and properly maintaining parking machines and equipment, the Porter will also be an expert at parking facility closing procedures: tracking open parking spaces, properly closing the facility, and efficiently redirecting guests to a different parking facility.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Ensure all trash containers are emptied and clean

    · Ensure that all floors, bollards, drains, ledges, rails, stairs, and walls are free of debris and are clean

    · Ensure that all accessible glass surfaces are clean

    · Ensure that all parking equipment and machines are free of debris and clean.

    · Notify a supervisor when parking equipment and machines are not functioning properly

    · Maintain accurate and timely count of open parking spots within the parking facility

    · Coordinate with team members to ensure that proper closing procedures are followed when the parking facility is full

    · Redirect guests to a nearby parking facility and provide a validation when needed

    · Ensure that all vehicles using the parking facility are doing so within the guidelines. Issue parking citations when necessary

    · Remain available to communicate with team members via walkie-talkie at all times, responding promptly when addressed

    · Be willing to complete any other task assigned by a supervisor

    · Maintain the physical condition of the property according to Denison Parking's Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA and Industry standards

    · Perform physically demanding work to maintain the asset to minimize liability concerns

    · Assist in snow removal and salting as required

    · Strong communication skills, organized, detail-oriented, and ability to work well with others in a team environment

    · Flexibility and ability to adapt to change

    · Record of punctuality and dependability, ability to work with under pressure of deadlines, and schedule

    · Flexibility to accommodate after-hours and weekend emergencies

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    · Walking and standing constantly for an 8-hr shift

    · The ability to lift to 50 lbs.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    · Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions

    · Frequently exposed to loud noises, chemicals, and automobile exhaust
