    We are seeking a Payroll Specialist for our Corporate offices who will be responsible for the processing of multi-state payrolls. This position is responsible for ensuring that assigned payrolls are processed appropriately, accurately and in a timely manner. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST HAVE PAYROLL EXPERIENCE TO SUPPORT PAYROLL DEPARTMENT AND HUMAN RESOURCES EXPERIENCE IS HELPFUL TO SUPPORT HR FUNCTIONS.

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Processes biweekly multi-state/payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal, state, and wage and hour laws.
    • Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments
    • Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, etc.
    • Resolving payroll discrepancies
    • Managing electronic timekeeping systems such as Aloha and Denny's Dine POS
    • Answer employee payroll related questions in an expeditious manner
    • Calculates payable hours, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions accordingly
    • Complying with wage and hour/FLSA regulations
    • Consistently strive to maintain knowledge of current payroll laws and participates in continuing education opportunities
    • Enter new hires into our HCM system and assisting HR with all employee changes
    • Is a backup for HR when team is on vacation and therefore HR background is helpful
    • Follow defined standards and reusable approaches within the Payroll operational framework
    • Proactively provide input into defining standards for new or improved existing policies and procedures
    • Additional duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • 2 years of Payroll experience required
    • Ability to analyze information and make informed decisions
    • Ability to track and report data as needed
    • Detailed oriented
    • Task Oriented
    • Excellent Time Management skills to perform various task simultaneously
    • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
