About the Role:

Big Sky Smiles and Sedation in Missoula, MT is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our dedicated and patient-focused team. Responsibilities:

Assist dentist chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, cosmetic, and sedation cases

Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms between patients

Take and develop digital X-rays following proper radiographic techniques

Monitor and assist with patients undergoing sedation dentistry protocols

Record patient medical histories, treatment notes, and updates in dental software

Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices

Coordinate with front office staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling

Requirements:

Minimum 2+ years of hands-on dental assisting experience required

Familiarity with sedation dentistry procedures is a strong plus

Dental radiography certification (X-ray certified) required or ability to obtain

Proficiency with dental practice management software (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar)

Strong chairside manner with the ability to put anxious patients at ease

Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Team-oriented, reliable, and professional demeanor
