At Needham Oral Surgery, we are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as an On-the-Job Training Dental Assistant or as a registered dental assistant. In this role, you will work closely with our clinical team to learn how to assist with oral surgery procedures, prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and support patient care from start to finish. Candidates with prior dental assisting experience or who hold a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification are strongly encouraged to apply, as this is considered a valuable asset. However, we are happy to train the right individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care. Responsibilities: • Take and document vital signs and medical history for patient records • Welcome patient and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during their appointment • Assure all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use • Get treatment rooms ready for for examination and procedures by equipping them with necessary sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials • Assist the oral surgeon during procedures or examinations by providing suction, handing off surgical instruments, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team • Answer any questions the patient may have about conditions, procedures, schedule appointments for procedures and follow-up, and provide preoperative and postoperative instructions • Take necessary X-rays, CBCT, digital impressions, and photographs for patient records Qualifications: • Active BLS/CPR certification is required • Strong interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are essential Compensation: $25 - $30 hourly
