The assistant is responsible for:
Greeting patient and preparing patients for surgery.
Taking digital x-rays and scans.
Assisting the oral surgeon during surgery by providing suction, monitoring of instruments, and swapping of tools as necessary.
Monitoring patient positions and vital signs during surgery.
Recording treatment information in patient records when needed.
Providing postoperative instructions to patients.
Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays and preparing any other needed materials for cases.
Taking impressions as needed.

Job Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification from an accredited dental assistant program a plus.
Experience: Preferably 1-3 years' experience as a surgical assistant but will consider candidates with 2-3 years' experience as a dental assistant.
CPR and DAANCE Certification a plus.
This position requires travel between three office locations
This position can include some weekend hours
