Responsibilities: • Support dentists and dental hygienists by handing off dental instruments, providing suction, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team during procedures or examinations • Evaluate and document vital signs and medical history for patient records, take x-rays of patients’ mouths, and apply a topical anesthetic for dental procedures, if needed • Meet patients and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during an appointment • Assure all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use • Chairside assisting (4-handed dentistry) • Make provisional restorations (crowns/bridges) *RDA • Take impressions and digital scans • Enter chart notes and treatment recommendations during patient visits accurately and thoroughly • Take digital X-rays • Set up and break down rooms utilizing proper infection control • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment Qualifications: • Associate’s Degree or a certification from a college or technical school training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation is required • Up-to-date BLS/CPR certification is required • Superb interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are desired • Computer skills and experience with dental software and updating patient histories is needed Compensation: $20 - $30 hourly
