Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as a dental biller and a minimum of two years of experience in the dental field. As a Dental Biller, you will play a key role in ensuring our practice receives accurate and timely reimbursements for services rendered while providing exceptional support to patients and insurance providers. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively in a team setting while maintaining responsibility for billing operations at one of our office locations. Experience with Open Dental software is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process dental claims and submit them to insurance companies for reimbursement.
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for patients.
Review and code dental procedures, diagnoses, and treatments according to industry standards.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving discrepancies as needed.
Maintain accurate patient billing records and accounts receivable.
Communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and the dental office team to resolve billing issues.
Ensure all billing practices comply with HIPAA regulations and other legal requirements.
Provide excellent customer service to patients with questions about billing and insurance.
Take responsibility for managing billing operations at one of our office locations while collaborating with team members to ensure smooth workflow across the practice.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a dental biller.
At least 2 years of experience in the dental field (in roles such as dental assistant, receptionist, or other related positions).
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Proficiency in Open Dental software and dental billing systems.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, codes (CPT/ICD-10), and insurance plans (PPO, Medi-Cal Dental, etc.).
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of billing responsibilities for one office location, while being a collaborative team player.
