Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced dental biller to join our small and growing dental nonprofit. The Dental Billing Coordinator will lead third-party billing for a growing dental non-profit. They work within our current system and be a part of a team implementing a new system.

Responsibilities
Billing
Processing and coordination of consent forms and Insurance Billing for clients including data entry into multiple systems.
Create and process claims, fix problems on past claims, including working the insurance verification tools
Payment entry and reconciliation.
Maintain materials of a strictly confidential HIPPA compliant nature.
Prepare information needed for tracking and reporting.
Reimbursement Improvement
Work with leadership to improve billing and tracking processes.
Keep up to date on billing issues and opportunities in dental.
Billing Compliance
Train and update staff on necessary steps to support successful billing.
Attend regularly scheduled agency meetings including but not limited to financial management meetings.
Qualifications Required Education · High school diploma or GED Experience · 2+ years of experience with billing through EHR/EMR (must be in dental if the candidate has no education/certification in billing related-area) Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities · Clear and effective communication, written and verbal form · Solid, hands-on, computer skills, including training on billing and general coding programs · Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word · Demonstrate extensive knowledge of general office practices and procedures including accurate and efficient typing skills, personal computer applications, calendar management, spreadsheet, databases, correspondence and telephone etiquette · Comfort and expertise working in a multi-cultural setting
Desired Education · Associates degree, HIM/HIT degree, or billing certification Experience · In a safety net healthcare organization · In dental care billing · With Open Dental or NESS · Delegating and supervising tasks done by peers (not in the supervisor role) Skills · Strong organizational abilities including team building, planning, delegating and task facilitation · Bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Karen
