    Dental Comptroller

    Milledge Dental Partners is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dental Comptroller to oversee all financial operations. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for managing the entire accounting infrastructure, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our continued growth and profitability.

    Responsibilities

    Own and execute the full month-end and year-end close process, including managing the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.

    Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accurate and appropriate use of funds.

    Prepare and generate accurate and timely financial statements and reports for internal review and board-level presentations, providing clear business insights.

    Manage cash flow, including preparing and managing the 13-week rolling cash forecast.

    Oversee all accounting transactions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, collections, and cash receipts.

    Perform comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, pinpoint issues, and support strategic decision-making.

    Manage relationships with external partners, including auditors and tax preparers, and oversee all aspects of internal and external audits.

    Ensure the practice remains compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements specific to the dental industry.

    Manage and provide leadership to the accounting department staff, including supervision, training, and performance evaluation.

    Lead the implementation and optimization of accounting and practice management software systems (e.g., Dentrix, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct).

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

    A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a significant plus.

    A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with demonstrated experience at a senior management level.

    Experience in the dental, healthcare, or multi-entity business sectors is highly desirable.

    Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.

    Proven ability to build and refine accounting processes from the ground up.

    Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

    Strong leadership capabilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel is essential.
