POSITION OVERVIEW
Provide preventive dental care and patient education while supporting dentists in delivering high-quality oral health services. You will play a key role in improving long-term patient outcomes through hygiene and education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform dental cleanings (prophylaxis), scaling, and polishing
- Remove plaque and calculus above and below the gumline
- Take and process dental X-rays
- Apply fluoride treatments and sealants as prescribed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care
- Conduct initial assessments of teeth and gums; report findings to Dentist
- Record patient medical histories, vitals, and dental charting
- Assist dentists during procedures as needed
- Maintain infection control standards and sterilization protocols
- Support patient scheduling, recall systems, and follow-up care
- Focus on patient education and preventative care
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
- Active Missouri Dental Hygienist license (RDH or LDH) in good standing
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
- 1+ year of experience preferred (new grads encouraged to apply)
- Experience as a Dental Assistant is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented and team focused
