Responsibilities: • Talk with patients to make sure they are comfortable and have all their questions answered • Help to identify dental issues such as periodontitis, gingivitis, or cavities so they can be treated as soon as possible • Give guidance to patients about how to have good dental care at home • Prevent tooth decay and periodontal disease by providing a thorough dental cleaning and applying protective sealants, fluoride, and Arestin as needed • Conduct initial screenings of patients to understand their oral health history • Make radiographs of the patient’s teeth • Instruct patients on how to care for their teeth on a regular basis • Treatment plan for patients' period treatment with the dentist • Update the patient’s health history periodically and document clinical notes from appointments • Clean and sterilize dental instruments • Identify dental issues such as periodontitis, gingivitis, or cavities so they can be treated as soon as possible • Document patient visits and keep health records current • Educate patients of all ages on how to take care of their teeth through good flossing, brushing, and the use of WaterPik daily • Talk to patients and make sure they feel comfortable and taken care of before, during, and after the examination Qualifications: • Has dental hygienist licensure in the state where the job is located • Excellent communication and customer service skills • Valid CPR certification Compensation: $45 - $55 hourly
