    We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, and handle administrative tasks with efficiency and compassion. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in dental and medical office systems, and a solid understanding of healthcare documentation and billing procedures. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering excellent patient service.

    Responsibilities

    Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional front desk customer service

    Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Dentrix,

    Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes

    Collect payments and process medical billing using CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Meditech or Athenahealth systems

    Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance

    Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, handle patient inquiries, and provide appointment reminders

    Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including care plans and medical records

    Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating medical histories

    Maintain organized filing systems for dental records and administrative documents

    Support office management tasks such as inventory management, filing, and data entry using Microsoft Office tools

    Ensure compliance with health information management standards and dental terminology protocols

    Experience

    Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is required, especially with dental terminology, insurance verification, and medical billing processes

    Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix is essential.

    Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

    Excellent computer skills. Microsoft Office Suite, and multi-line phone systems are necessary

    Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively

    Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional phone etiquette background in healthcare settings are essential

    Previous clinic experience or medical administrative support experience will be considered an asset
