    SUMMARY

    As part of Dental Whale, we work hard to help hundreds of our clients grow their dental practices and successfully compete with corporate groups by providing them with seamless access to a vast array of tools, services and advantages. One of these key services is provided by our Revenue Cycle Management's Insurance A/R Pod within our Front Desk DDS business unit LOCATED IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. Here, our highly skilled team manages dental insurance and billing for dental practices all over the country resulting in enhanced profitability and efficiencies. This allows dentists to focus on patient care, and not on insurance and billing.

    THE POSITION

    Revenue cycle management (RCM) is the process in which claims are accounted for, EOBs are processed and patients are notified of their balances on behalf of dentist offices. The processes that drive this service are key to ensuring accurate submission, tracking, and auditing so practices are fully aware of their financial standing and revenue is maximized. The DENTAL CLAIMS A/R SPECIALIST is an integral part of this process. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely submission of insurance claims, obtaining missing information, researching denials, following up on claims, and maintaining compliance with department standards, HIPAA, and governing agency policies and procedures. This position is full time, non-exempt and is LOCATED IN OUR SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS office (with potential for a hybrid in office/work-from-home arrangement on set schedule for specific days of the week).

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Call insurance companies regarding outstanding claims and document outcomes
    • Audit patient accounts to ensure accuracy - and notify patients of any outstanding balance(s)
    • Check clearinghouse for daily claims submissions and attach necessary documentation
    • Complete appeals on misprocessed claims with additional information required
    • Post received payments into practice management systems
    • Pull reports weekly to assess office status and work need
    • Track production and work completed - including daily work assigned by leadership
    • Utilize balance sheet to balance bank amounts with practice management system amounts
    • Complete semi-monthly phone calls with clients to build rapport and review identified trends 
    • Adhere to processes related to the AR team’s goals

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or GED 
    • Previous experience in dental claims submission and requirements
    • Basic understanding of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
    • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly - both verbally and in writing
    • Detail oriented 
    • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) at a basic to intermediate level
    • Knowledge of Dental Xchange preferred

    FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time WAGE TYPE AND RATE: Hourly; $16.50/Hour
