HEALTH CLUB / GYM MANAGER
SUMMARY of POSITION:
The Gym Manager is responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of the club, including profitability, member satisfaction, sales, personnel training and employee development. You will ensure the fiscal effectiveness of all profit centers and provide leadership to accomplish overall departmental objectives. You will work hand in hand with club management to exceed operational excellence.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Well-developed understanding and use of management skills such as recruitment, selection, training and development, coaching, goal setting, performance management, delegation and organization
Maintains managerial oversight and scheduling for the following departments (Membership Sales, Front Desk Personnel, Kids Club, and Maintenance) and communicates regularly with department heads regarding the performance of each department
Strong motivational, communication, team building and training skills
High level of professionalism, honesty, integrity and work ethic
Organized and ability to prioritize and delegate
Hospitality is key (customer service)
Basic computer software including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and willing to learn others.
Willingness to work flexible hours
Oversees the Sales Team to ensure that that revenue goals are met along with keeping expenses in line.
Creating operational strategies to ensure the company vision is fulfilled (forward thinking)
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years of proven success in health club industry
Experience selling health club memberships and managing the sales department
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Thrives in a customer focused environment
Excellent Team-Work and communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in related industry preferred
