    Position: HR/Payroll Administrator

    Denver Research Institute (DRI) is seeking a HR/Payroll Administrator. Under the direction of the Executive Director and with guidance from the Finance Director, the HR/Payroll Administrator is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment, selection, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and training programs for the Denver Research Institute. The HR/Payroll Administrator maintains a strong working relationship with all DRI and VA Medical Center employees, investigators, researchers and funding entities.

    This is a full-time exempt (salary) position.

    DRI is affiliated with the Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care System. As a condition of employment, all DRI employees are required to complete a background check.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    A bachelor's degree in business administration or related field from an accredited institution.

    2 years of professional level experience in Human Resources and payroll administration

    Substitution: A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree

    Knowledge of basic accounting and familiarity with payroll systems.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    HR certification as recognized by the HR Certifications Board.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    Maintains, prepares, and processes bi-weekly payroll for 50+ employees

    Prepares and maintains employee handbook, policies and procedures

    Develops human resources policies and procedures

    Ensures compliance with applicable legislation and regulations

    Onboarding of new hires

    Administers all current and/or future employee benefits programs

    Educates and guides employees through benefits selections and documentation as needed

    Administers COBRA & FMLA

    Completes exit interviews

    Provides on-going management of payroll and time keeping systems

    Manages the relationship with Payroll / HR systems vendors, including collaborative efforts to comply with financial reporting requirements

    Participates in the implementation and update of the compensation program. Completes annual salary survey, market analysis of compensation and make appropriate recommendations as needed

    Processes all personnel changes and maintains employee personnel files

    Reconciles and approves all invoicing from benefit vendors

    Other Duties as required.
