JOB TITLE: ADVANCEMENT SERVICES ASSOCIATE
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT SERVICES

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTION:
The Advancement Services Associate designs and implements effective data entry, gift receipting, and reporting systems to enhance donor, church, and alumni relations and to facilitate donor identification, research, cultivation, and moves management which consists of solicitation, recognition, and stewardship.
The Advancement Services Associate also serves as the manager of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT database. This position is responsible for the overall efficiency, effectiveness, and improvement of the database for the support of the advancement team and other Denver Seminary representatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The Advancement Services Associate plays a key role in the improvement of fundraising performance through the design, implementation, and interpretation of operational reports including but not limited t
- Bi-Monthly advancement reports to provide an analysis of fundraising performance vs. goals.
- Quarterly dashboards to provide analysis of current performance vs. past years performance.
- Donor reports to provide information on giving trends, donor history, and donor segmentation.
- Reports and dashboards for project ROI analysis.
- Monthly reconciliation by working directly with the finance department to reconcile all fundraising revenue.
2. The Advancement Services Associate supports the development function by garnering trust amongst constituents and prospective donors, encouraging involvement and investment in the Seminary, and qualifying prospects.
- Develops and implements predictive models for identifying new prospects for the Seminary’s fundraising efforts.
- Performs research using a variety of tools (primarily Raiser’s Edge NXT and Research Point) to determine background, family history, relationships, financial status, assets, and other information about current and new prospects.
- Organizes and ensures timely gift processing and receipting for donors.
- Works interdepartmentally to import internal constituent information.
3. The Advancement Services Associate serves as manager of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge (RE) database to:
- Maintain and enhance Denver Seminary’s donor management systems and processes.
- Train and communicate with other advancement staff in general use, procedures and requirements of RE as well as in use of specific features and functions and to keep procedure manual up to date.
- Import to and export from database as needed to generate complete, up-to-date lists and reports for mailings and events in a timely manner.
- Update constituent records with any newly gained contact or biographical information from other advancement staff or communication to the advancement office.
4. This person will serve as support staff for the Ministry Residency Program.
- Upload residency church commitment/pledge forms for each intern to Raiser’s Edge and SharePoint.
- Manage pledge payments for interns.
- Provide reporting on pledge status to Ministry Residency Coordinator and others as requested.
- Act as liaison between Denver Seminary, student intern and residency church regarding pledge status/payments when necessary or requested.
- Provide monthly pledge balance statements to residency church.
5. The Advancement Services Associate provides key administrative support in the implementation of new fund agreements and amendments to past agreements.
- Appropriately files new fund agreements and amended fund agreements.
- Adds scholarship fund details to Raiser’s Edge database.
- Communicates interdepartmentally with the finance office and the financial aid office regarding the creation of a scholarship or amendments to a previously created scholarship.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree with preferred emphasis in business, mathematics, statistics, financial analysis, or equivalent coursework or experience required.
- Advancement database experience required with certification and proficiency in Raiser’s Edge by Blackbaud strongly preferred.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office working conditions including computer usage may require occasional standing, walking, long periods of sitting, climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
