The Deputy Director of Finance for the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (LCCNR) should bring a blend of financial leadership, healthcare expertise, and regulatory knowledge specific to the long-term care environment. This role requires demonstrated experience overseeing all aspects of financial management in a skilled nursing or healthcare organization, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit coordination. A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement systems, particularly New York’s Medicaid rate methodologies, cost reporting, and Department of Health compliance requirements.
The position demands a leader who can develop and monitor operating budgets, manage cash flow, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Familiarity with state and federal cost reports, including the RHCF-4 and CMS-2540-10, is essential, as is experience maintaining strong internal controls and audit readiness. The ability to interpret and communicate financial information clearly to facility leadership, boards and committees, and regulators is critical.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team leader who can guide accounting and billing staff, streamline processes, and connect financial outcomes to operational performance. Experience with healthcare accounting systems such as PointClickCare along with advanced Excel skills and an analytical mindset, will be important. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is required, with a CPA or MBA preferred. At least five to seven years of healthcare finance experience, including several years in a nursing home or long-term care setting, is strongly desired.
