Deraaff Capital and Raven3 Home Buyers is a dynamic and rapidly growing real estate investment company specializing in acquiring multifamily and single-family properties in the vibrant Hudson Valley region. Our deal flow is about 80-100 transactions a year and we specialize in houses, multifamily, manufactured housing, and hospitality. We are looking for someone who truly loves real estate and wants to grow with a company that has an immense amount of upside. Responsibilities: • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers • Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed • Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems • Assist with ordering title insurance, clearing title encumbrances, reviewing title reports, surveys, and documents of record. • Prepare, monitor, and track closing documents, closing checklists, deeds, and transfer tax returns. • Coordinate and organize signature pages in preparation for closings. • Assist with closings, including attendance at closings and post-closing matters. • Create limited liability companies, including preparation of formation documents, ordering searches, UCC filings, and overseeing all filing requirements. • Other responsibilities as they may be assigned from time to time. Qualifications: • Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired • 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting • Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred • Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills • Strong oral and written communication skills • Real estate/law paralegal or Admin experience Compensation: $75,000
