GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Accessioner is responsible for receiving, accessioning and data entry of information for laboratory samples to be tested. Includes follow-up by either phone and/or fax on required information.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive transportation kits
• Manage samples
• Accurately enter information in LIMS
• Utilize automated instruments
• Accurately document and enter data
• Assist with keeping the laboratory clean

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• AS/AA or BS/BA  in life science is highly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1+ years experience as an Accessioner is highly preferred
• Experience with LIMS preferred
• Experience working in a laboratory is highly preferred
• Able to work well with others
• Open to learning and using new software and equipment
