We are seeking team members with the vision, passion, and creativity to do the same. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Integration Engineer position is an exciting development role central to data processing at DermTech. The Integration Engineer will work within the IT team to automate interdepartmental corporate data flows and will also collaborate with external partners to enable healthcare interoperability at DermTech. The Integration Engineer will implement and validate green field integrations as well as maintain and monitor existing integrations. The Integration Engineer will work to continuously improve integration performance / scalability and monitoring tooling. The Integration Engineer will work with a variety of data sources, formats, and communication protocols, and must apply strong ETL skills to solve complex integration problems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and support HL7 and REST interfaces to enable electronic laboratory test ordering and result delivery
• Develop and maintain application integrations using a combination of configurable off the shelf software and custom scripting
• Collaborate with internal and external backend engineers to integrate channels with internal systems and customer systems
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of workflows, architecture, channels, and message specifications
• Interact with commercial, operational, and scientific departments to support product launches and updates

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with interoperability data formats including HL7 2.x, FHIR, XML, and JSON
• Strong experience creating ETL workflows
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Constructive work ethic, ability to work independently, status accurately, and drive projects to completion
• Strong experience with an interface engine, NextGen Connect / Mirth and Boomi preferred
• Familiar with cloud computing concepts including infrastructure as code, containerization, and serverless architectures
• Strong software development experience as part of a development team, experience collaborating via git repositories, code reviews, and CI/CD tools
• Competent in a scripting language, Python and Javascript experience preferred
• Experience consuming and developing REST APIs
• Dedication to code quality and adherence to DevOps protocols and principles, including test driven development
• Understanding of privacy/security regulations and guidelines including HIPAA/HITECH, CAP/CLIA, SOX, PCI, GDPR, and GxP
• B.S. in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or equivalent experience

• Amazon Web Services certification
• Understanding of laboratory processes and scientific data
• Experience with Agile development
