Job Description
We are seeking a Part-time Accounting Coordinator who will be an important part of our team.
We are a highly-regarded, mission driven, non-profit organization. The Accounting Coordinator will be a self-directed, experienced professional who will oversee all financial and accounting activities. This position is anticipated to be a part-time position requiring between 15 – 22.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance of the accounting general ledger, day-to-day activities of the accounting department, month and year-end close procedures, and working with our outside CPA firm.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Actively participate in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the company’s accounting system, including accounts payable, cash disbursements, dues and corporate contributions billing and collection, and maintenance of the general ledger system.
- Strong compliance with policies, procedures and internal controls for the accounting department.
- Responsible for month end and year end closing procedures.
- Monitor compliance with revenue restriction criteria.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years accounting experience—non-profit work experience is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with a senior management team.
- Previous experience with QuickBooks.
