We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mohs Histotech to join our dermatology practice. As a Mohs Histotech, you will be responsible for performing histological procedures and preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination during Mohs surgery. This is a critical role in our practice, as accurate and precise histological analysis is essential for successful Mohs surgery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine histological procedures, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and coverslipping
• Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination during Mohs surgery
• Ensure proper labeling and documentation of all tissue samples
• Maintain accurate records of all procedures performed
• Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Collaborate with the Mohs surgeon and other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient care

Requirements:

• Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mohs Histotech in a dermatology setting
• Proficiency in performing routine histological procedures and preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and infection control measures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Mohs surgery techniques and procedures
• Familiarity with Mohs laboratory equipment and software
• Knowledge of dermatopathology and skin cancer diagnosis
• Experience with digital imaging and image analysis software We offer competitive compensation.
