    Company Overview

    DermLounge is a growing medical and cosmetic dermatology practice dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered skin care. Our practice provides comprehensive dermatologic services for patients of all ages and skin types, including the evaluation and treatment of skin cancer and precancerous lesions, acne, rashes, pigmentation concerns, hair loss, and other dermatologic conditions.

    In addition to medical dermatology, DermLounge offers a comprehensive range of aesthetic treatments, including neurotoxins, dermal fillers, laser and energy-based treatments, microneedling, skin rejuvenation procedures, chemical peels, and professional medical-grade skincare.

    We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing dermatology team.

    Job Summary

    The Dermatology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients within their professional scope of practice and in accordance with applicable California laws, regulations, standardized procedures, and practice protocols.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical dermatology and dermatologic procedures, along with an interest in or previous experience with cosmetic dermatology.

    This position requires a provider who is comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to provide excellent clinical care and an exceptional patient experience.

    Responsibilities

    Medical Dermatology

    Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations, including detailed patient histories and physical examinations.

    Evaluate, diagnose, and manage common acute and chronic dermatologic conditions.

    Develop appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient history, and established standards of care.

    Order and interpret appropriate laboratory testing, diagnostic studies, and pathology results.

    Prescribe medications and modify treatment plans within the provider's authorized scope of practice.

    Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, prevention, and ongoing skin health.

    Provide appropriate follow-up care and referrals when indicated.

    Maintain complete, timely, and accurate medical documentation.

    Dermatologic Procedures

    Candidates should have previous procedural experience and be comfortable performing or developing proficiency in procedures commonly performed within a dermatology practice, including:

    Shave biopsies

    Punch biopsies

    Cryotherapy

    Electrodessication and curettage, when appropriate

    Incision and drainage

    Intralesional injections

    Removal and treatment of benign skin lesions

    Other dermatologic procedures within the provider's training, experience, and authorized scope of practice

    Experience assisting with or performing more advanced dermatologic procedures is a plus.

    Cosmetic & Aesthetic Dermatology

    Previous aesthetic experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience with injectable treatments.

    Depending on training, experience, and demonstrated competency, responsibilities may include:

    Performing cosmetic consultations and developing individualized treatment plans

    Botox, Xeomin, and other neurotoxin injections

    Dermal filler injections

    Microneedling and regenerative aesthetic treatments

    Laser and energy-based skin treatments

    Skin resurfacing and rejuvenation procedures

    Body-contouring treatments

    Chemical peels

    Recommending appropriate medical-grade skincare products and treatment regimens

    Providers will have opportunities for additional training on DermLounge's aesthetic treatment protocols, products, and devices.

    Qualifications

    Required

    Active and unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in good standing.

    Appropriate prescribing/furnishing authority and DEA registration, as applicable to the provider's license and position.

    Ability to practice within all applicable California laws, regulations, and scope-of-practice requirements.

    Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient safety.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with physicians, APPs, medical assistants, and administrative staff.

    Professional, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.

    Ability to accurately and efficiently complete clinical documentation.

    Ability to stand for extended periods and safely perform procedures and treatments requiring handheld devices and equipment.

    Strongly Preferred

    At least one year of direct dermatology experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

    Previous hands-on experience performing dermatologic procedures, including biopsies, cryotherapy, intralesional injections, and other common office-based dermatology procedures.

    Current Medicare enrollment/credentialing through PECOS.

    Current Medi-Cal enrollment/credentialing through PAVE.

    Ability to be appropriately affiliated, reassigned, or enrolled with the practice for Medicare and Medi-Cal billing and credentialing purposes.

    Previous experience in cosmetic or aesthetic medicine.

    Hands-on injectable experience, particularly with neurotoxins and/or dermal fillers.

    Experience with lasers, energy-based devices, microneedling, regenerative treatments, or other advanced aesthetic procedures is a plus.

    Ideal Candidate

    Our ideal candidate is an experienced Dermatology NP or PA-C with at least one year of direct dermatology experience and a strong procedural background.

    We are especially interested in candidates who are already enrolled/credentialed with Medicare through PECOS and Medi-Cal through PAVE, as well as providers who have previous aesthetic experience and are comfortable performing neurotoxin and dermal filler injections.

    The right provider will be clinically confident, personable, efficient, and comfortable balancing medical dermatology with procedural and aesthetic services. They should enjoy working in a collaborative, growing private-practice environment and be interested in developing a long-term role with DermLounge.

    Additional Responsibilities

    Maintain compliance with practice policies, clinical protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements.

    Participate in ongoing clinical education and training.

    Maintain a high standard of professionalism and patient satisfaction.

    Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to maintain efficient patient flow.

    Maintain appropriate infection-control and patient-safety standards.

    Perform other duties and responsibilities as appropriate to the position.
