POSITION PURPOSE
To support Olympique’s Project Managers primarily in the production of CAD drawings for New Construction (NC), Existing Building (EB) and OPOS Development projects. Other areas of support include drawing library management (both electronic and hard-copy); CAD block and template file maintenance; filing; preparing reproduction, shipping and transmittal forms; and other tasks that may be needed within the scope of the Façade Access industry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Design and prepare accurate working plans, scale drawings and revisions for complex projects, integrating skilled architectural/engineering drafting methods and procedures using AutoCAD and Revit, more specifically:
Design and prepare accurate working plans using observation, measurements, sketches, specifications, verbal and written instructions, research from past similar projects, direction from clients or supervisors.
Maintain company drafting standards such as sheet setup, layer management, plot procedures, file storage and management, text and dimension styles, among others.
Review and manipulate electronic files received from consultants, architects and engineers to suit OFAC standards for submittals.
Coordinate with clients to obtain most up-to-date backgrounds, sections, details, plot styles, title blocks, etc.
Read and understand architectural and engineering construction drawings, contracts, shop tickets, work orders, proposals, purchase orders, design development drawings and equipment specifications.
Understand bid requirements, access ftp sites, download drawings, request necessary plans and specifications, organize client submittals, print sets of plans for bid purposes, perform equipment take-offs.
Prepare transmittals, order drawing reproduction and shipment, organize courier pickup and drop off, receive manufacturer’s warranty letters upon job completion, assemble close out packages.
Manage resources such as drawings, meeting notes, markups, emails, product information, catalogues, and files.
Make basic computations to determine equipment designs, layouts, strength of materials, and requirements for structural design.
Manage time wisely and efficiently, set and meet deadlines for each project, work independently without direction, use resources such as the internet to improve education and knowledge, accept direction from supervisors, communicate with co-workers, recognize areas that need improvement and offer solutions.
Log project progress including start and stop time, lunch breaks, and a detailed description of the work performed on each work order.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: Minimum 2-year degree in Architecture or Engineer or equivalent CAD-specific program
Required Knowledge: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Windows, Internet
Experience Required: 2 years CAD drafting experience in Architecture or Structural Engineering
Skills/Abilities: Has excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
Has strong interpersonal and public relations skills Demonstrates strong math and problem solving skills
