Lead the end-to-end design and reverse engineering of complex, precision-machined components and mechanical assemblies. You will drive new product development, capture existing part geometries, and ensure all deliverables meet stringent quality and regulatory standards.
* Direct new product design efforts: concept development, CAD modeling, and prototype validation.
* Utilize reverse engineering techniques (e.g., 3D scanning, point-cloud processing) to recreate legacy or undocumented parts.
* Produce detailed CAD deliverables, including part and assembly drawings, BOMs, and revision-controlled documentation.
* Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to define critical features and inspection criteria.
* Establish project budgets, resource plans, and schedules.
* Track milestone progress, manage risk, and report status to stakeholders.
* Ensure designs and processes adhere to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
* Participate in internal audits and continuous-improvement initiatives to maintain certification requirements.
* Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to resolve design or production issues.
* Mentor junior engineers and deliver training on best practices for CAD, reverse engineering, and GD&T.
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* 7–10 years of hands-on experience in precision design and reverse engineering within defense, aerospace, or similarly regulated industries.
* Expert proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
* Strong background in reverse engineering workflows and associated software/hardware.
* Advanced knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
* Demonstrated ability to create and manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocations for engineering projects.
* Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
