Job Description
Summary:
The employee is part of the Design Engineering Team and shall serve as a stress analysis and mechanical design resource for higher level Design Engineers and Project Engineers. The position is considered mid- level, and the engineer will work unsupervised approximately 50% of the time.
SSP’s product line is primarily high pressure, high temperature pneumatic and fluid lines for aerospace applications. Markets served include domestic and foreign commercial, military, and space.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
There are two primary job functions: Detailed component design and FEA based stress analysis.
* Component design consists of conceptual sketches (physical or CAD) which are fed to the drafting team. Significant application of concepts such as design to specification, design for manufacturing, design for inspection, and design for cost.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no direct supervisory responsibilities associated with this position. The employee is expected to help train and mentor junior employees as applicable.
