    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Create site layouts and designs in AutoCAD/Civil 3D for utility and commercial-scale renewable energy projects.
    • Independently apply a deep knowledge of renewable energy system components such as modules, racking, inverters, and Balance of Systems (BOS).
    • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes.
    • Lead multiple projects.
    • Evaluate, select, and apply standard procedures, and criteria.
    • Prepare project documentation including scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
    • Support client interaction for multiple projects.
    • Support cross-functionality between disciplines.
    • Assign tasks to and direct less experienced team members to complete assignments.
    • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of the engineering work.
    • Assist with proposals to provide professional services.
    • Provide mentoring for staff engineers.
    • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments with high proficiency and confidence.
    • Receives guidance, when necessary, on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
    • Receives a review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment.
    • Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.

    Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar applicable work experience
    • 5+ years of experience in design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD and/or Civil3D.
    • Extensive solar PV system or energy storage system design experience is required, preferably at the commercial or utility scale.
    • Knowledge of GIS software tools is desirable.
    • Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to be both creative and analytical.
    • Detail-oriented and accurate.
    • Efficient time management – handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines.
