  • Responsibilities

    What You’ll Do

    • Design and model foundry tooling, including patterns and core boxes.

    • Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturing and maintenance.

    • Collaborate closely with product development, engineering, and operations teams to finalize new product designs and ensure manufacturability.

    • Develop fixtures and machining components from renderings, rough designs, or concepts, working with both internal teams and external vendors.

    • Create layouts and drawings of complex assemblies, mechanisms, and structural parts.

    • Support new and existing pattern designs, including maintaining design data and records.

    • Troubleshoot design challenges and develop creative, practical solutions.

    • Evaluate and recommend modifications to plant equipment and facilities to improve processes, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

    • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, incorporating feedback and lessons learned into future designs.

    • Stay at the forefront of technology, contributing ideas for new tools, techniques, and solutions.

    • Communicate technical ideas effectively across teams and with stakeholders.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or 10+ years of foundry tooling design experience).

    • 3–5 years of experience specifically in foundry tooling design.

    • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and 3D printing (FDM and SLA), plus experience with 3D scanning.

    • Strong understanding of working with diverse materials (wood, metal, plastic, electrical components).

    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

    • Proven multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

    • Exceptional attention to detail and a track record of delivering quality work.

    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and assume responsibility for projects.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and make data-driven decisions.

    $90,000 per year
