    Job Description

    Position Overview - Design and develop electro-mechanical solenoid valves for customer applications. Review and improve existing products to facilitate Lean Manufacturing.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design electro-mechanical solenoid valves that utilize machined, stamped and molded components.
    • Guide a cross functional product team throughout our NPD tollgate process.
    • Provide technical product support to internal and external customers.
    • Design products that will be subjected to a wide range of pressures and temperatures.
    • Design prototypes and conduct validation testing in a laboratory environment.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Compile cost estimates for new product quoting.
    • Conduct and/or participate in new product design reviews with cross functional input.
    • Generate and/or update bills of material.
    • Configure valves to work with AC and DC inputs.
    • Develop DFMEA’s, and create detailed CAD drawings.
    • Support company QMS and ISO-9000 requirements.
    • Participate in company Kaizen events.

    Requirements

    • BSME / BSEE or equivalent
    • 3+ years related job experience in design and development of new products. (Electro-Mechanical Preferred)
    • Strong design skills a must. Experience with solid modeling and drawing creation. (SolidWorks Preferred)
    • Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
    • Must be proficient with MS Office (Including, WORD, Excel, Power Point, and Access)
    • Project Management skills.
    • Should be able to use standard mechanical and electronic gages and test equipment.
    • Must be able to read and understand Electrical and Pneumatic/Hydraulic Schematics and Mechanical Blueprints.
    • Ability to work with others and must have effective verbal and written communications skills.
    • The ability to interface with customers and suppliers to develop products to meet diverse needs.
    • Support the strategic goals and vision of the organization by promoting lead time reduction and contribute to the overall experience of our customers.
    • Perform any other duties as directed by Engineering Manager.

    Non-Essential Job Functions

    • Participate in company problem resolution teams
    • Participate in company kaizen events
