Engineering Design Supervisor

Our client is seeking an Engineering Design Supervisor to lead and mentor a team of design engineers and shop order specialists. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality designs, consistent processes, and timely delivery of customer projects while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Person can be located in either Fort Payne, AL or St. Joe, IN.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, mentor, and coach team members while holding them accountable through performance reviews.

• Ensure consistent application of design policies, procedures, and practices.

• Oversee production schedules, work assignments, and payroll/vacation tracking.

• Provide responsive, high-quality service to customers and support business development efforts.

• Partner with leadership to drive process improvements and promote organizational growth.

• Lead and uphold all safety standards and practices.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) or another engineering degree with 5+ years of structural design experience.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or PE exam passed with experience in progress.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Civil Engineering degree with structural focus.

• Experience with joist, deck, metal building, or structural steel design/detailing.

• Prior leadership experience, including leading projects or teams.

• Strong communication, team-building, and coaching skills.

• Willingness to relocate for future advancement opportunities.
