    SUMMIT TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS (STS) is currently a TEST ENGINEERING LEAD.  The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), Nuclear Weapon Systems Integration Division (NDS) is responsible for providing continuous support that maintains warfighter capability in the employment of nuclear weapon systems, including the cruise missile weapon system programs.  The scope of this undertaking includes engineering, analysis, management, and technical support services to fulfill the AFNWC/NDS requirements in support of the enduring nuclear stockpile with focus  on  cruise  missile  weapon  systems  program  and  Air  Force  nuclear  stockpile  management needs

    The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), Nuclear Weapon Systems Integration Division (NDS) is responsible for providing continuous support that maintains warfighter capability in the employment of nuclear weapon systems, including the cruise missile weapon system programs. This position will be located in Kirtland AFB, NM. 

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The TEST ENGINEERING LEAD will be responsible for overseeing the test related aspects of this contract and shall have demonstrated test-engineering expertise. The Test Engineer Lead will directly support government personnel who operate in a joint DOD/DOE environment. They will directly support in a joint test environment with NNSA and Federally Funded Research and Development Center labs.     ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Support the testing program by conducting end-to-end, stockpile-to-target sequence to assess the entire operational envelope of the weapon delivery system, fire control, and nuclear warhead. The test program includes the full spectrum of  nuclear-tasked  operational weapon systems to include missiles, nuclear warhead, aircraft, weapon  delivery avionics, maintenance and operations  personnel, technical orders and manuals, other associated support systems, and the command and control process and procedures.
    • Support Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) prior to Government Formal Testing of the system, software, and modifications.
    • Support all test activities.
    • Support the development of test plans, procedures, schedules, and reports.
    • Notify the Government of all test schedules and activities.
    • Support the performance of recurring system and subsystem regression testing for the purposes   of   evaluating   the   system   stability,   evaluating   the   functionality   of   software modifications, and evaluating that the overall system performance has not been affected by any of the changes occurring in the baseline.

    Required Skills

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

    • 7 years of B-52  aircrew  experience  in  the nuclear mission
    • 6 years (with Master’s degree) OR 8 years (with Bachelor’s degree) of test engineering experience in nuclear  weapon-delivery  system  interface  requirements

     

    CLEARANCE REQUIRED:  Top Secret

     

    EDUCATION:  A Bachelors is required
