  • Responsibilities

    This position will report to the Member Service Management staff, this is a position geared toward the transition to a Member Service Loan Officer role.  Responsibilities include learning to process, evaluate and underwrite consumer loans initiated through the Member Service Center, and gaining the information and skills needed to obtain relevant loan limits and licensing Hours include rotating evenings and Saturdays.

    1. Learns to proficiently perform loan interviewing.
    2. Directs the necessary loan credit investigations and uses the Credit Guide Scoring System to obtain credit reports and help evaluate loan applications.
    3. Processes and underwrites consumer loans within appropriate approval limits.
    4. Recommends approval or denial to Team Leader or Member Service Supervisory staff on loan requests.
    5. Schedules loan closings and fund disbursal at branch locations.
    6. Cross-sells accounts and loans, including making referrals to Landmark Investment Center.
    7. Answers members’ phone inquiries regarding services, accounts and other issues. Opens accounts and performs transactions as needed.
    8. Educates members on the use of available automated systems in order to reduce the number of calls and sets them up for such services.
    9. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Minimum of two years of prior external customer service experience, nine months of internal experience or six months as a Landmark Member Service Representative.
    3. Must have ability to pass the Junior Loan Officer test and to obtain an NMLS #.
    4. Experience or ability to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job.
    5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
    6. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
    7. Bilingual skills helpful but not required
    8. Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must understand and comply with all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
