    Job Title: Designer III, Electrical

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Department: Engineering

    Reports to: Engineering Manager, Electrical

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

    The Designer III, Electrical is responsible for developing and maintaining, design, detailed drawings, and related specifications of equipment under the direction of an engineer.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Functional & Technical Skills

    • Create conceptual layouts of machines, machine components, and systems to meet required specifications.
    • Prepares, checks, and processes Engineering changes to incorporate updated design to new or existing machines.
    • Read, understand, edit, and create electrical schematics in ladder diagram format.
    • Review electrical schematics and create electrical panel and enclosure designs, layouts, and bill of materials.

    Operational Excellence

    • Promote an environment of continuous improvement of engineering processes and documentation to increase throughput, design efficiencies, and product quality.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: Associate Degree in Design/Drafting

    Experience: 5+ years experience with CAD modeling, detail drafting, and PDM systems.

    Licenses/Certifications: Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software

    Compensation:

    Loram determines compensation based on factors such as skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. Certain positions may be eligible for an annual bonus and paid time off in addition to base compensation.
