STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER (MULTIPLE OPENINGS)

Our client, a Southern CA fintech company, is scaling their technology teams for an exciting growth surge across the company. We're actively recruiting for Staff Software Engineers to own and lead the development lifecycle of products aligned to specific functional areas. This is a people leadership role, responsible for a team of developers focused on proper analysis, development, unit testing, and rollout.  

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• People leadership managing a team of developers, providing feedback and training, conducting performance reviews, participating in interviews and hiring decisions, and resolving people issues on the team
• Technical Lead and mentor for developers assigned to the product/project ensuring performance, maintainability, and functional requirements from design to rollout and support
• Work with engineering staff, collaborating on hardware and system monitoring requirements to ensure expected system performance and reliability
• Assists in developing and ensures adherence to standards and procedures for software engineering staff
• Proactively communicate and work to mitigate changes to project timelines, degradation in performance of applications, and concerns with project and/or product direction

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Significant software development experience in data centric Win32/Web Applications utilizing Microsoft Technology Stack for Business: .NET, .NET CORE, HTML, ASP, Angular, SQL Server
• Preferred Experience: ASP.NET, WCF, Web Services, XML, SQL Server, Windows Services, UX Design, JavaScript, CSS, Domain Driven Design, Scrum/Agile SDLC methodologies, nServiceBus
• An understanding of relational databases is a must, MS SQL Server preferred
• Can effectively lead collaborative design/requirements meetings while gathering the necessary information to begin development
• Must be self-motivated, strong decision making along with communication and analytical skills which facilitate requirements gathering from product owners
• Ability to break up larger projects into individual pieces, assess complexity of each piece, and distribute the work amongst team members
• Project Management skills with the ability to keep projects on track and/or communicate issues
• Strong oral, written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users
• Must be excellent team players with the ability to handle stressful situations while working in a fast-paced environment
• Offshore experience preferred
