Position Description
Maricopa County is seeking a Device Refresh Project Technician to support the FY26 Desktop Refresh Project (DRP). This project involves deploying, configuring, and tracking laptops, desktops, monitors, and peripherals across 30+ county departments.
The technician will report to the Desktop Refresh Project Manager and collaborate with department liaisons, service desk representatives, and vendors. Responsibilities include distribution, imaging, inventory control, troubleshooting, end-user setup assistance, and quality assurance.
This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and the ability to handle logistics and documentation in a structured, project-driven environment.
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hrs/week) Worksite: 301 S. 4th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85003
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, image/reimage, configure, and QA desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals.
Manage incoming/outgoing inventory and device tracking.
Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) tasks.
Assist with break-fix issues and vendor service calls.
Install applications locally and through Microsoft SCCM.
Support end-users with first-time setup (Outlook, network/local printers, 3rd-party software).
Resolve technical issues via phone, ticketing systems, or in person.
Maintain and update records, databases, and documentation.
Escalate recurring technical issues and recommend process improvements.
Support project documentation, scheduling, logistics, and reporting.
Required Skills & Experience
Proficient with Active Directory (add, move, change objects).
Prior experience in Desktop Refresh Projects and IMAC tasks.
Strong knowledge of Windows PC hardware and configurations.
Experience with SCCM application deployments.
Service desk ticketing system experience (enterprise level).
Strong inventory process control and audit knowledge.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
Effective communication with end-users and vendors (plain language).
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Punctual, detail-oriented, and self-starter.
Education
High School Diploma (required).
