Job description On Grid Infrastructure Services is seeking Detroit High Pressure Stationary Engineers to operate a 250HP Fire Tube at 80 psi in a mobile trailer for building heat. We need day and night shifts for about 5 weeks starting ASAP. If you work but would like to pick up extra shifts on your days/nights off, this may be ideal.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Monitor pressure, temperature and fuel consumption levels to ensure efficient operation.
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery to prevent malfunctions.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as needed.
Record and analyze equipment performance data, adjusting controls as necessary.
Maintain compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies and codes.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and system failures promptly.
Coordinate with contractors and other facility personnel for repairs and upgrades.
Keep accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training is a plus.
Valid Stationary Engineer/Boiler Operator license
Minimum of 5 years of experience in boiler operation.
Strong knowledge of boiler systems, combustion processes and water treatment.
Familiarity with computerized control systems.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
Work Environment:
May require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Exposure to high temperatures, loud noises, and hazardous materials.
Standing for extended periods and occasional climbing or crawling may be required.
Preferred Certifications:
Detroit High Pressure or higher.
