    Job Description

    HIRING BONUS OFFERED! We are seeking a School Social Worker to join our team! You will provide Social Work support to students in either individual or group settings. You will also be responsible for managing the IEP process for students on your caseload. Responsibilities: * Assess nature of students' situations by interviewing and reviewing personal history * Develop and execute individual treatment plans and IEPs * Determine appropriate milestones to gauge student progress * Communicate student updates to all relevant parties * Facilitate the IEP process, coordinate with parents, staff and administration * Maintain accurate student case notes and documentation Qualifications: * Previous experience in school social work * Must have approval letter (SW310) or School Social Worker Certification/Valid License * Compassionate and caring demeanor * Ability to build rapport with students, staff and administration * Strong leadership qualities * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Must be able to work autonomously with little supervision or direction * Must be able to work in a team environment as this position will rely on partnerships with the Special Education staff Company Description Founded in 1920, Detroit Institute for Children (DIC) provides a passionate and integrated approach to services for Michigan's children with special needs and their families.
