GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
The Contract Data Analyst I is responsible for generating datasets from a variety of resources and providing the department with technical and administrative support. This role will be primarily responsible for creating a current vacant land use database by reviewing remote satellite imagery, field photos and notes, resident inquiries, open-source data, and other internal data as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Determine current land uses by reviewing satellite imagery and photos
• Upload information to internal databases
• Develop datasets through review of internal and external databases
• Provide analytical support for programs within the department
• Extract, load, model, and reconcile large amounts of data across multiple system platforms and sources
• Review data to determine operational impacts and needed actions; elevate issues, trends, areas for improvement and opportunities to management
• Develop reports and deliverables and make recommendations to management (i.e., weekly status report, bi-month reports, analysis and interpretation reports, etc.)
• Ensure data integrity by performing data quality audits and analysis
• Assist with technology and data issues
• Complete ad-hoc tasks as requested
• Perform other related duties as directed
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities)
• Bachelor Science/Arts in Computer Science, Geography, Statistics, Urban Planning or another technical major, or equivalent demonstrated analytical and technical ability
• 1-3 years of professional or academic experience in Data Management, Data Analyst or Database Administrator
• Experience working with stakeholders to understand and propose solutions and approaches to sophisticated analytic problems
• Experience creating, testing, and optimizing data tables
• Must have strong organizational, analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
• A strong system and data analysis background
• Knowledge of Salesforce database preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly
• Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g. a personal computer, wireless equipment, copier and fax)
• Proven track record of working in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with the following software: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), Adobe version 10 or greater
