Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company is accepting online applications for the position of Production Specialist Chemical at Carlsbad, New Mexico through December 16th at 11:59 p.m. (Mountain Time).
This position is eligible for DLP – Domestic Location Premium.
Responsibilities for this position include by are not limited to:
- Lead HSE as it relates to the field execution of chemical applications
- Ensure procedures are available and followed by business partners
- Verify the chemical tank labels and containment is compliant
- Oversee batch treating truck operations
- Supervise special chemical jobs and ensure safe execution
- Manage chemical delivery activities
- Ensure safeguards are in place and functioning
- Understand KPIs, and report any significant variances
- Execution of the chemical program
- Attend pump teardowns for ESP, Gas Lift and Rod Pump wells as necessary to capture solids
- Contribute to the modification of chemical programs
- Capture grind outs for wells that are experiencing efficiency degradation
- Sample facilities during shutdowns or failures
- Check chemical rates on chemical pumps
- Perform maintenance work on all production chemical pumps including changing packing, suction valves, batteries, etc.
- Assist with new chemical pump and tank setups for new POPs
- Support EOR projects
- Monitor slip streams as necessary
- Perform Draeger readings
- Act as chemical point of contact for all field specialists
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Demonstrated commitment to Chevron Way Values and We Lead Behaviors
- Strong knowledge and extensive application of Managing Safe Work standards and permitting
- Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, overtime based on workload
- Must be willing to work a 9/80 work schedule
- Must live within 50 miles of the workplace or be willing to relocate and possess a valid driver's license
- High proficiency in computer applications specific to production reporting, maintenance, facility monitoring and control, and Microsoft application
- Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination, as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process
- 2 years of current oil and gas or related experience
- Must be able to work independently with at times minimal support
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively within a diverse team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a field specialist responsible for operating and troubleshooting facilities and wells
- Experience with standard facility operation
- Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers
- Aptitude to learn new applications and software
- Permian Basin experience
- Chemical program experience
Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered within Chevron’s parameters.
International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
