    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Developer/Programmer Analyst 3 with strong expertise in Java, SQL, Linux, and enterprise application development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting large-scale applications, troubleshooting production environments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, enhance, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
    • Analyze business and technical requirements and implement scalable solutions
    • Design and optimize SQL queries, database objects, and application performance
    • Troubleshoot production issues and resolve application defects
    • Prepare technical documentation, user guides, and deployment procedures
    • Coordinate development efforts and support project planning activities
    • Develop backup and recovery processes to ensure business continuity
    • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders
    • Recommend system improvements and implement performance enhancements
    • Support application modernization and migration initiatives
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

    • 15+ years of hands-on Java development experience
    • 10+ years of SQL database development and optimization
    • 8+ years of experience supporting and enhancing large enterprise applications
    • 5+ years of Linux experience
    • Strong experience in coding, testing, debugging, and application maintenance
    • Experience writing SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and triggers
    • Knowledge of database schema design and performance optimization
    • Experience troubleshooting application issues, system logs, memory utilization, and connectivity
    • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
    • Experience creating technical documentation, flowcharts, and implementation plans
    • Ability to coordinate development activities and mentor team members
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

    Additional Information

    • Experience with Atlassian tools, especially JIRA
    • Experience working in Agile environments
    • Experience with State of Texas applications
    • Experience with Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) systems
    • Experience migrating legacy mainframe applications to Java/SQL environments
