    Job Description

    As a Development/Booking Producer at Dateline NBC, you will be responsible for identifying and researching potential stories, and contacting and booking interview guests for Dateline episodes. The Development/Booking Producer will be involved in production across the United States, including covering trials and producing high-quality interviews under tight deadlines. Your role will involve assessing potential stories, taking booking trips to secure exclusive interviews on competitive stories, and helping produce those interviews as needed. You will participate in post-production during the writing and editing process. You will work closely with correspondents, producers, camera crews and editors, to ensure that each report is accurate, fair, and engaging.

    Responsibilities:

    • Find and book compelling guests for the show, following booking protocols
    • Write preparation documents for interviews
    • Develop and produce guest segments
    • Help guide the content and tone of episodes, via prep and support during interviews
    • Contribute to editorial planning of episodes
    • Consistently generate timely and informed pitches
    • Contribute to unit’s overall booking and outreach as needed
    • Implement work with guidance from Senior and Executive Producer

    PLEASE NOTE: This is a short-term position with an estimated duration of 24 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

    Qualifications

    • At least 5 years of relevant experience
    • Bachelor’s degree - preferably in journalism or communications
    • Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong editorial judgment and customer service skills
    • Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
    • Strong work ethic and organizational skills

    Additional Requirements:

    • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time

    What we’ll offer: Production Employee (PEP) Regular who works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period:

    • Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months
    • Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on 1st day of employment
    • Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment

    Salary range: $115,000 - $130,000

    $115,000-$115,000 per year
